Type any units: mm, inches, fractions & feet

How Cabsmith’s smart input parses millimetres, inches, fractions and feet-and-inches — and converts on the fly.

You shouldn’t have to convert anything in your head. Cabsmith’s number fields understand the way woodworkers actually talk about size, and the dedicated keypad has the keys to type it fast.

  • Type 24 — Cabsmith uses your project’s default unit (mm or inches).
  • Type 3/4 — parsed as 0.75 of your unit.
  • Type 2'4" — converted to 28 inches.
  • Type 600mm, 24in, 2.4cm — explicit units are always respected and converted.
Mixed shops welcome

Enter parts in inches and stock in millimetres if that’s how your suppliers quote — Cabsmith reconciles them to one internal unit before optimizing.

Voice & camera, too

Hands full? Say “add four panels, 600 by 400, oak” and Cabsmith fills the fields. Or point the camera at a rectangle and let the depth sensor capture its width and height — useful for measuring an existing opening before you design the cabinet to fill it.
